Day 148 Birthday boy

My oldest baby turned 8 on the 5th.

He had a sleepover with a friend, went to the movies to see Kung Fu Panda 2 in 3D, and stayed up WAY to late eating junkfood.  He had a good night :)

The next day he went to his Grandparents camper and got to go fishing.  His usual request of a pumpkin pie was overthrown when he spotted this gummy worm cake in the supermarket.

A little 365 Vacation

Some of you may have noticed I have been MIA for a few weeks.  Nothing happened, I just needed to take a little break from this project.  It was around this time last year that I got very overwhelmed with it all and just stopped completely.  The beginning of June seems to be a really busy month for me and I was having a really hard time finding the time to get my picture everyday.  I had three actual client sessions during the 2 weeks as well as prepping for a trade show thing I am doing in a few weeks.  My time and energy was put into that and after taking pictures for other people and all the time with editing I just didn't want to pick up my camera.

So now I am beginning again.   I will start back at Day 147 or whatever I stopped at and add the few pictures I actually took during the 2 weeks off and continue from there. I guess my project 365 will continue into the middle of January but at least I will continue it!  I really should have done that last year!.

Thank you all for continuing to visit my little blog and I promise as soon as things slow down here in the next couple of weeks I will go back to visiting everyone else :)

So here is what I will call Day 147,  this is sweet little Thumbelina ( no that is not actually her name).  My first ever girl in the studio.

Day 146 Rockin Baby!

My second favorite baby X came to see me today.  I say second because obviously my own Xander is my favorite but this baby Xander is definitely in second place!

His mom and I went shopping before he was even born and found this little leather jacket.  We have waited almost a year to be able to finally use it :)

Day 145 Pretty Flowers

Hopefully at some point during the next few weeks these flowers will move out of their pots in my sunroom and into my flower beds,  if the darn frost ever stops coming at night!

Day 143 Birthday present

Daddy got Dylan a new four wheeler for his birthday.  He finally had a chance to ride it today :)

This would be why being the mother of three boys terrifies me some days.

Day 142 Baby T

Today I had a little tiny 6 pound  baby boy come to see me.  What a cutie he was!  It was too bad he didn't want to fall asleep for me though :(  But of course 3.5 hours later and on the way home he crashed!  LOL  I guess that's just the way it goes.  One of these days I will get a newborn who will stay asleep so I can try to get some of those shots I have been wanting to get.  Till then I am quite happy getting all the baby snuggles I can get and taking pictures of eyes wide open babies.

Day 141 Camping season is open

Victoria Day weekend signals one thing in the north.....its fishing time!  It also means the boys get to spend time at the lake where their grandparents and lots of other relatives all have campers parked.

A little fishing (no boat tonight) and some marshmallows make for some happy boys :)

And of course I took a few more before the blackflies got to bad.

This one kind of reminds me of a certain dwarf from Snow white....

And here he is shortly after covered from head to toe in white sticky sugar.

OOOO I want more of those!

Day 140 aCrazy Kids!!!

At one point today there were 17 children in my backyard...the oldest was my own almost 8 year old.  I was actually considering turning towards my van and running to it keys in hand as fast as I can to get away.

Okay it really wasn't that bad and Dylan had a blast with all his friends.

Cupcake decorating with candy :)

What fun is a party without a bounce on the trampoline?
Pigtails flying and all!

Dylan and Chloe sitting in a tree....... Melissa might be my sister in law some day :)

All the other pics of these two involve Chloe pointing a finger at Dylan telling him he had to smile nice so she could have a nice picture with him....he obeyed :)  LOL

Pinata?  I'm not sure how many kids managed to hit Bill with the hockey stick while he directed them towards the thing but I think this may be the LAST pinata at our house!

Day 139 Busy Busy

I am really starting to mess up this 365 thing.  I think by the end of it it will be more project 355.

So today I spent the day running around trying to get all my shopping done before the stores closed for the long weekend, get all the stuff together for a birthday party tomorrow and then finish off with my Zumba class that night.  Then after Zumba I was up until 1 am making cupcakes for the birthday party.

Okay sob story over...but I didn't remember to take a picture.

Day 138 Birthday pie

Dylan did not want  a birthday cake this year.  He is not very fond of cake and really doesn't like most kinds of icing.  His choice for his birthday dinner consisted of french toast, breakfast sausage and pumpkin pie for dessert ( no whip cream pwease mommy)

So this mommy filled his request and he had a pumpkin pie with 6 birthday candles.

Day 137 Dylan ♥♥

My baby turns 6 tomorrow.

Where did all those years go?

Now it is all I can do to drag him outside to take his birthday pictures.  He HAD to bring a snack with him in the van tonight in case he got hungry with all the modeling he had to do.

What does he grab?  An egg.

I had made hard boiled eggs to go in our salad tonight and there were leftovers.  He brought one with him on the road.  When the pictures were done he asked for his egg which I had stuck in my camera bag for safe keeping.  I went to crack it to peel off the shell and discovered that just because he will be 6 tomorrow does not mean he is a whole lot smarter.

The child grabbed the egg from the carton instead of one of the boiled ones.  It smashed all over me!  Well at least it didn't break inside my bag ;)

So without further ado I give you Dylan....my soon to be in a few hours 6 year old!

Day 136 Puppy Treats

I went to the store to get dog food today and decided to buy the boys a little treat.  My boxer hooch smelled the contents of the bag as soon as I walked in.  He managed to completely devour his pigs ear in less than ten minutes.  So fast in fact that by the time I had my camera out his was gone.

The puppy Harley on the other hand wasn't to sure what it was I was giving him. He kept running all over the house with it in his mouth waiting to see if I was going to scold him for chewing something he wasn't supposed to!

He managed to keep it for over an hour before Hooch got a hold of it, then it was gone in minutes.

Day in between

I had already posted my Day 134 picture but then I went out last night and took this.  It's not Day 134 or 135 but more of an in between.

The big tall thing in the background is a headframe. It's what holds the cage (big elevator) that take the men and equipment underground into the mine. *I think*  Don't quote me on that, I'm just a miners wife who really doesn't listen well when my husband tries to explain these things to me.

Not because I don't care....more like not wanting to know so that I don't worry as much when he goes to work.  I like to pretend his job is not dangerous......till he comes home and tells me what size of rock fell on his head that day.  *not a big fan of that*

This is not the mine that he works at.  This is the one about 2 km from our house that blasts everyday at 5:30 pm and causes all the windows in my house to rattle and makes me think something is exploding.  Oh what something is....thankfully it's a few km away :)

Day 135 Bird watching

Dylan discovered we have a bird feeder in our front yard and insisted we put bird seed into it the other day.  We tried filling a bird feeder last spring at our old house but since it was in the back yard where the dog was tied up we never got any birds.  It took a few days but we have A LOT of birds now.

My neighbors must think I am nuts now since I was sitting outside tonight on the front lawn with my big lens on taking pictures of birds....I don't think the neighbors could actually see the birds though so who knows what they were thinking.   I have no idea what kind of birds they are, the kids asked me but I haven't a clue.

And just because I was sitting next to it....my first Tulip of the year :)

Day 134 Rock climbing...sort of

Tonight we took a drive about 10 minutes down the road and came to a cool spot out in the bush where there is a giant rock that you can climb and look out over the area. The boys thought they were "rock climbing'  Who am I to tell them just because there are rocks around they are not technically rock climbing?  They had fun running around though and I got to take some some pictures of them actually being nice to one another!

Day 133 Child labour?

Today I woke up to a HUGE mess.  Not just a little mess but a REALLY BIG mess.  An entire jar of jam all over my floor.  Spread throughout the house by three little boys.  It was on the chairs, the floor, the couch, the clean laundry in the basket. You name it, it had jam on it.

This was after I woke up at 3 am really hot and thirsty. I got up to get a drink and discovered my oldest boy sitting on the couch watching TV, eating freezies and my thermostat turned up to 27 degrees.  I guess that would explain why I was so hot.

Needless to say I was not in a good mood.  The boys got to spend their Saturday afternoon cleaning the house.  My oldest who was beyond tired actually fell asleep in side a cardboard box in his room when I sent him in there to clean it.  (I woke him back up again, maybe next time he won't get up in the middle of the night!)

I think about the only fun they had was when I let them clean the windows.  My youngest boy thought this was great fun because he got to use the spray bottle and then wipe it off again.  What 3 year old wouldn't find that fun?  And that was the most cleaning he did....after all he is still my baby.    The other 2 boys did not have a great day.  What can I say...I'm a MEAN mommy!  LOL
