Day 150 More light trails

After the other day I decided I should go find some more traffic so I drove over to Bill's cousins house on the highway and set up there

It worked MUCH better!

Now if it would just clear up a bit I could get the moon shots I need to take as well :)

Day 149 Girls day out!

Today all the kiddos went to Nana's house, Bill went to help a friend do reno's on a room and I went out with a girlfriend :)   Who could ask for more......shopping, lunch somewhere that does not give out toys with the meals, and Sex and The City 2!!!  What a great day :)   And in honor of SATC I painted my toe nails pink,  I could have been like the old lady in the theater with the tiara and pink boa but I went for the more subtle :)

Day 148 Light trails

More homework :)   Don't worry class is all done at the end of June till next fall so soon you will get to see lots of pictures of the kiddos again.  For now you get to see light trails.  What are light trails you may ask?  They are the lines of light made from passing cars, truks, trains etc.  When you slow your shutter speed down enough you get the trails of lights and not the actual car or truck in the picture.  Tonight was my first attempt at it.  I stood at the end of the driveway for over 45 minutes and in that time I got ONE transport truck go by :(    Doesn't make for a very pretty light trail picture when there is no TRAFFIC!  This would be one of those days I wish I didn't live in the middle of nowhere.

What do we do in photography class? 

You may have wondered....we take odd ball pictures of broom sticks :)

Okay well in all seriousness there was actually a point to this picture.

I didn't think so.

Day 125 Get Crackin!

This weeks assignment for my photography class was to set up shots.  So today I made Ty some soft boiled eggs for breakfast but before he got them I took a few pictures with the cute little egg cups my mom brought the boys the last time she came to visit.

Then after I took the pictures Ty got to enjoy the eggs :)

Day 143 Car Wash

What to do on another hot day?

Wash the van.

It started with Bill washing his truck since he decided it wasn't shiny ( funny cause I don't think he has EVER washed the van before)

Then the boys wanted to help so Bill set them to work on the van

I think they washed off more rust than anything else.....

Day 142 He LOVES his tractor

No not one of the kids.....the big kid.

Did the grass really need cut again 3 days after he just did it?  No

Did he really need to to it when it was so hot out?  No

But the big kid LOVES his tractor

And then what does he do when he is done with the grass?

Day 141 Fun in the Sun

33 degrees and we are all roasting

Day 140 Randoms from class

I am SUPER behind in my blog again, so no big stories with all these pictures so I can get caught up.  So instead you get to enjoy just the pictures.  Here are a couple from class tonight.  We were experimenting with bracketing but I didn't go to in depth in to what I was taking pictures of since I was being eaten alive by black flies.

Day 139 My baby is 5!

Today my middle child, my little pork chop, my shy little red head turned 5

Where did the time go?

He had a good birthday....got his Scaredy Squirrel cake.  Which he then decided didn't taste good and he didn't eat.

Opened his presents......after having a quick nap on the couch after school.

And tried to blow out sparklers.....

It was a good day and he loved all his presents......especially his new Scaredy Squirrel Book and flying helicopter!

Day 138 A Canadian Chicken

How do you make your chicken truly Canadian?

You stuff a can of Molson Canadian up its butt and stick it on the grill!

Well I guess technically it isn't stuffed up its butt but its sounds so much better!  

MMM MMM  Good!

I LOVE beer can chicken.  Went really well with a few packets of potatoes all done up with spice too :)

Day 137 My hubby is SO photogenic

Ever try taking a picture of someone who doesn't like pictures?

Not an easy thing to do

What happens when you like to take pictures and your hubby hates having his picture taken?

I take it anyway....drag hubby outside into the blackflies and then post the BAD attempt on a blog :)

In my defense I was practicing and it was really nice light outside...not that you can tell since Bill just stands there like a bump and won't move where I tell him to.

Maybe this will prompt him to shave once in awhile if i keep showing his picture to everybody!

Or I may just find that he starts running from the camera!

Day 136 Grass cutting 101

How to cut the grass with little kids

Step 1:  Get a trailer

Step 2:  Hook trailer on back of riding lawn mower

Step 3:  Put kids in trailer and cut grass

Please ignore the fact that this is the same trailer that the garbage also goes to the dump in......

Day 135 Big Bellies Everywhere!

Today we dropped all the kids off at Nana's and went to Cochrane for the day.  Bill went to a friends house to help renovate a room and dropped me off at my friends funeral home to visit and help out.  I spent the morning playing in the flower beds and laying down mulch with Carrie.  Then it was off to Timmins to get insulation for the room.    When we got back a friend of Carries met up with us and she had kindly volunteered to help me out with my assignment this week for class.  We are working on portrait work for this week so I needed a few guinea pigs :)  Lucky for me both Brooke and Carrie are pregnant so I got to work with some big bellies! 

 

Brooke was a GREAT model!  After taking some of here I snapped a few of my beautiful friend Carrie all dirty and covered in mulch from the garden.  LOL

We then took a little trip over to Carries Parents house because I still needed a few more shots for class.  Her parents were wonderful and such fun to take pictures of!

How fun are they????  Father and daughter had to compare bellies.......LOL

I had a great day and got to take lots of fun pictures!

Day 134 Fun at the Dump

Well I don't know if I would call it fun....   Bill had to take the garbage to the dump today.  We don't have garbage pick up out here in the boonies and no longer have anyone to do it for us like we used to so it has become one more thing on Bill's "to do" list.

I went along for the drive and had my camera with me.  My dear husband thought I was nuts but I was hoping to see a bear at the dump.  No such luck today though,  lots of seagulls having a feast though!

Day 133 Summer is almost here

Finally there are leafs on the trees!

Everything is turning green and its staying warm outside.  Hopefully this means it won't snow anymore!

In other news......my battery charger came today and I ordered a grip for my camera.  Never again will I be left with no camera!

Day 132 More B&W

A few more today in Black and White........  class tonight so a new assignment!

And that will be the last of my black and whites taken straight of the camera.  I think I definitely prefer to edit them the way I want not let the camera decide.    But it was interesting to find things that worked as black and white and showed lots of tone. 

As for my battery.......I had to borrow my teachers charger and my new one will be in the mail very shortly :)
