Day 130 The wildlife never stops

First a spring and a beaver, then moose now bears.  Its been a wild week around here!

I am kicking myself for taking my big zoom off and not bringing it with me today.  We saw 5 bears beside the road, a mama with 4 little cubs.    Really bad pictures but it was the best I was getting cause I certainly wasn't going to get any closer to them!  

Day 129 Tomatoes!

I am determined to get tomatoes earlier than the end of September this year.  I always buy little plants and then by the time they start to produce tomatoes it's so late in the year they end up getting frost.   To solve that I went to the nursery and bought BIG plants that were already almost starting to flower.   Hopefully by the end of the summer I will have my fill of tomatoes :)

Day 128 Life in the north

Sometimes I forget that this is not a normal sight for most people.    Tonight's drive home from grocery shopping (yes I had to go do groceries on Mothers day)  had me passing three different moose by the road.  This one just happen to be nice and close and not blocked by any bush.  He was nice enough to pose for me for quite a few minutes before he got bored and wandered back to the bush.

Day 127 Out for a drive

We went out for a drive tonight so I could take a look down an old backroad to scout out a location for some pictures.  We stopped for a few minutes to go check out a beaver dam and came across an old spring in the ground.  There was a pile of old hose laying beside it so I imagine at some point people were using it for water.  Not sure if I would want to drink it but it looked kind of cool :)

I guess I disturbed the beaver who was living around there because he took off in a hurry when I went to take his picture!

Day 126 Oops

No picture today...someone remind me that once in awhile I really should charge my battery ;(

Missed some good pictures too!  We went to the merchant mania home show and all the kids got to plant flowers and tomato plants to bring home.    Oh well maybe someday I will learn my lesson and keep an eye on that battery life light.

Day 125 Good Bye Grey Hello Blonde

I decided it was time to cover up the grey....as usual I just let my hair dresser do whatever she wanted.  I walked away with big bold blonde streaks.

Day 124 I ♥ spring

Let the gardening start!  I bought my first flowers today.  Don't worry though...I bought the kind that can handle a little snow just in case it decides it's going to do that again!

I played for awhile trying to get a nice sunflare but I was having slight difficulty reading my meter because the sun was glaring in my eyes and I couldn't see it!  There has got to be a better way to do this because I for the life of me can not read anything in the view finder when I'm outside unless I am in the shade....and that doesn't always work.
