Day 103 {he does math like his mom}

I came to the realization tonight that Xander has inherited something from me that I would have preferred NOT to pass on.  His math skills.

I am horrible at math.  I still don't know my multiplication tables,  I have to add and subtract with my fingers most of the time, and as a whole.....I stink at anything to do with numbers.

I was watching Xander do his homework tonight and he was doing all his addition and subtraction using his fingers.....like mother like son I guess.  Hopefully he will figure out eventually how to do it with out using his hands, unlike me. 

Day 102 {more hats}

Here is a picture I took today of Ty wearing his newest hat from Stella B Designs   I was actually very impressed at this picture......I managed to almost nail the focus.  Something I have been struggling with especially at a very low aperture.  I love how the hat makes his eyes look so blue.  And if you didn't see my post below about my friend Brooke who makes these adorable hats ( in all sizes) please go check it out. Day 101 {Scaredy Squirrel}

Since Dylan started school in the fall he has been reading Scaredy Squirrel books by Melanie Watt.  He owns three of them and he reads them all the time.  They are his favorite books and if given the opportunity he will tell you all the details of Scaredy's life :)

At the end of every month the boys school has a dress up day.  Usually its just red and green day (December) red, white and pink day (February) black and orange day (October), but this month its book character dress up day.  I asked Dylan what he wanted to dress up as and you can just guess the answer I got. 

"Mommy I am going to be Scaredy Squirrel at the beach. I can wear oven mitts to stop germs, have a rubber band to stop the lobsters from biting me and wear a helmet to stop falling coconuts!"

I don't know why I even asked.......  now I get to try and dress him up as a squirrel.  Why he couldn't have been simple and picked something like Xander who is dressing up as Captain Hook , thankfully we have all the items to pull this off very easily.  Now I just have to figure out how to make a squirrel tail.

Day 100 {and they played}

 100 days!   Do you see that????   I am so impressed with myself!   Only 265 days to go.........

Today my kids all played together quietly and with the same toy!   I was so impressed with their ability to share nicely and not fight I took a picture.

And then it ended :(   Less than ten minutes later Ty was taking off with the Lego and Xander and Dylan were fighting over who got what piece and crying that Ty had taken off with the pieces they needed.  So much for quiet....aww well at least I got a few minutes of it.  And I have PROOF!

Day 99{more snow}

It kept snowing all night and this morning I woke up to even more snow.  I was waiting to see if it was going to be a snow day but no...thankfully the plows came out.

Today's picture is of Hooch who was really not to sure what to think when I let him out this morning.  Last week the backyard looked like this.

Today the poor dog got thrown out into this....well not poor dog, he did enjoy playing in it.

No day number on this post.....just wanted to tell you all about my friend Brooke :)  She makes the cutest hats in the world!  IF I had a girl I swear she would be wearing them all the time.  Instead I make Ty wear the boy version all the time.....as well as mitts too. Day 98 {freak snow storm}

Okay well maybe not freak.....it is after all only the beginning of April, but after a weekend of summer like weather slightly unexpected.

I sent the boys to school today in spring gear.....shortly after they got on the bus it started.    By 4 pm this is what it looked like.

And it didn't stop til the next day :(
