Day 37 {Cookies}

I let the boys decorate valentines cookies today.  I got really lazy this year and instead of making cookies bought a box with cookies, icing and candy.

I even let Ty decorate a few...although he mostly just licked the icing spoon!  Dylan thought the best way to do it was lick the spoon in between colours.  Xander just ditched the spoon and spread his icing with his fingers.  Needless to say I did not taste the cookies at all and they pretty much polished them off as they were decorating.  They saved one for daddy when he got got home but after seeing some pictures Bill didn't want one either!  LOL

Day 35 { Proud Olympic spirit}

Yes you are reading right day 35......I did it, I admit it, I MISSED 2 days in row.  I will not lie, I totally forgot.  I got busy reading a book and reading a bunch of stuff online about some lighting issues I was having and forgot :(  I guess I could have just posted a different picture and said it was from those days but I will tell the truth.....I forgot!  LOL

So for today.....Took the boys to New Liskeard today to get them haircuts.  Both of them were getting pretty straggly looking and needed cuts bad.  Bill and Ty went here in town for cuts in the afternoon when the boys were at school.  Xander has become obsessed with the upcoming Olympic games and was determined to get a pair of the red mittens he keeps seeing everywhere.  So while we were in town we went to Zellers and got them proudly outfitted with Olympic gear. They both picked out the red mitts and Dylan got a touque and Xander a scarf.  Dylan wanted to go to bed wearing his new mitts!  LOL

And the next morning all ready for school :)

Day 32 {Why don't baby gates work?}

I used child locks and all that jazz with the other two boys and never had a problem.  Ty on the other hand is becoming a handful, he climbs over any type of gate  (including his crib)  and now opens doorknobs :(  Now with the other boys they actually stayed on the one side of a baby gate and when it came to doors I would put those little handles on the knob to stop them from opening them.  With Ty the gate does nothing to even slow him down and I can't FIND any of the door know things around here!  I have searched everywhere and they are no where to be found.  I have a feeling I may have to go for a long derive to get some.......Hopefully Timmins will have them.  Its mostly to keep him out of the bathroom and away from the toilet, which apparently is fun to flush.   Some one suggested I get a toilet latch but after thinking about it I had this vision of Dylan running to the bathroom and peeing all over the floor because he couldn't get it open!

Where you may ask is all this coming from?  Ty has been obsessed for a week now with climbing onto the washing machine and dancing around on it.   Unfortunately he is also getting into the laundry soap that is there as well.

After hours spent with me going in to the washing machine every ten minutes and getting him off he finally wore himself out :)

Day 31 {I made it whole month!}

I did it!  I made it an entire month and didn't miss a day.  One month down eleven to go.  Tonight I pulled out my black seamless paper again for my homework assignment for class.  Although I do like the brown better with the boys and it is easier to work with and light I need to figure out the black.  So I took the advice from my father which I forgot last time I used it and remembered that black absorbs light therefore turning it gray.  I guess I pay enough attention when I read things because it took my dad telling me what to do to figure it out.......maybe he needs to get a photography hobby?  LOL

So with my lightening set up a little different this time I tried again.  I did not have to turn the background black this time....it actually stayed that way.  I hope I am moving in the right direction for this. So here are a few that I really liked.   Although I wished I had noticed the 2 big finger print smudges on my lens BEFORE I had started.  they were slightly difficult to work around.  Note to self: Always check for fingerprints before taking a hundred pictures.

Day 30 { More climbing}

The climbing thing is Ty's new favorite game.  Today a friend from college was coming over to visit for the day and Xander was washing up some dishes before she arrived.  While he was washing the dishes Ty decided to pull a chair up to the sink and climb on in!  I came into the kitchen to find him standing in the sink covered in bubbles and soaked.   There goes the nice outfit I had on him and my floor was also soaked.  At least Xander got the dishes done though :)

I did manage to take a night shot tonight for class thanks to a friends suggestions of taking a picture of a candle.   Much better than freezing my tush off outside!

Thanks for looking :)

Day 29 {Dancing to the spin cycle}

While doing laundry today I walked into the laundry room and found Ty on top of the washing machine bopping away on top of it while the spin cycle was on!    All day long I had to keep going in and dragging him off the top of washer.  He thought this was a great game and kept climbing back on top.

And  then of course he had to go after the laundry soap too.....

Day 28 {night shot}

Slow picture day today.  I did get a cute shot of Ty absolutely mesmerized by the television.....watching In The Night Garden of course :)

After the kids were in bed I attempted to do one of my assignments for class this week.  The goal to take a night shot....well silly me decided to go outside and test out the night mode on my camera.  BRRRRR  I got exactly one test shot before I said forget it and went back inside.  -40 is WAY too cold to be outside to try and get a picture of nothing in particular.
